Onward Haul is a photographic exhibition featuring 9 of Sydney’s young up and coming photographers. The images presented revolve around each photographers recent experiences in travel, whether that be internationally or within Australia itself.

With this, his first solo show, Sare-2 has one eye on the past—the other firmly on the future. His is a world of pattern, type, texture and form, and Nostalgia takes us on a trip to the centre of this universe: the foundations of the Sare-2 style—a pastel galaxy—a granite planet rock.

Her Name is Flora is a celebration of feminine depictions of the female form in nature, tinted with the rose-hued eye and wonderment of the girlish gaze.
It is an exhibition spanning film, photography, painting and textiles (maybe even a sneaky plant or two!) – arising from a mutual fascination with the female figure and native flora, landscapes and dreamscapes. This exhibition is a culmination of two feminine approaches to the subject matter in an array of complementary mediums.
So please come and Join us for the opening night – there’ll be sweet tunes, a free keg of beer, and flora galore! Wear a posy in your buttonhole or a sprig of flowers atop your head to contribute to the exhibition in your own small and charming way.

Eloise is a Sydney-based film and photo artist and museologist. Eloise’s practice explores finery, frippery and flowers, sensation and sentiment. She enjoys working with medium format film, Kodachrome and museum objects.

Caitlin’s work delves into the essence of female experience, exploring themes of romance, obsession and self-analysis. Surface design, illustrated garments and diary-keeping are all strong cues in Caitlin’s repertoire – utilising these methods she creates a succinct world rich with a personal visual language.

Julia Trybala creates confined spaces within her large
scale acrylic paintings, bringing ‘Cloak’ to The Tate Gallery.
Trybala has captured ambiguous characters within these interiors that reflect upon themes of anxiety, solitude and comfort; ultimately creating scenes that are lost between dreams and reality.

‘Against the grain’ stresses the subconscious significance of imagery arrived at by the exploitation of the artists life experiences with a pretty rare medium known as “Pyrography”.

Often called “wood tattooing” where the illustration is burnt into the wood with a hand held poker worker to give a sharp aesthetic.

Their is a focus on the growth parameters of the wood. Some grain elements are embedded with the poker work and and other voids are filled with splashes of paint and line work that all come together to create a new form of expression for the artist.

An exploration of law and disorder in Australia.

The Tate presents ‘TWENTY SIX’. A show consisting of twenty-six artists and twenty-six letters.

‘TWENTY SIX’ is a contemporary exploration of the alphabet, traversing a number of different mediums and styles. The exhibition represents a balance of both Australian and international artists from varied practices including graffiti, illustration, sign painting and typography.

‘TWENTY SIX’ is also a rare opportunity to view work from international artists who do not often exhibit in Australia.

In music, syncopation involves a variety of rhythms, which are often unexpected, making the music ‘off-beat’ – a disturbance or interruption of the regular flow of rhythm. The works featured in this exhibition represent the evolution of Lederman’s work but also identify a type of syncopated change in style and mood.

Although differing slightly in medium and style, all stem from the same foundation – the circle. The circle shape continues to anchor all of the artist’s work, as each forms representations of our unpredictable and random, yet seemingly ordered world.

The artist uses bold, geometric lines against negative space, mirroring the strong and weak accents that occur in music.

Syncopation will allow you to experience and interpret the work without forced direction.

OX is a UK born illustrator and painter working in Sydney. Alternating practise between the studio and street, OX uses psychedelic pop colour to counter point dark humour. A combination of ambiguous text and imagery explore the romance of obsession, desire and addiction.

Ox King Takeaway is an exhibition of the 13 secret spices, dirty pleasures and our addiction to the unnatural, crammed into a poorly sealed fluro wrapper. Takeaway looks the way we consume modern art in the Internet age. Fast food art, cooked quickly, served daily, clean food, good taste!
A new series of large-scale paintings and paper work accompany the launch of Ox Kings new zine detailing work form the street and studio from the past year. ‘Down Time’ is a group exhibition featuring the work of creative collective, Studio 615.
A follow up to last years successful Melbourne show, “Time Flies”, artists Mike Danischewski, Silk Roy, Sam Octigan, Marcus Dixon and Doug Aldrich have come together once again, this time taking what they do to The Tate in Sydney for one night only.

‘Down Time’ features more works on canvas, paper and wood in a broad range of mediums, highlighting the group’s diverse skill set. As well as a range of printed matter available on the night.
