This is the new Generation of First Nations People.
Sun and Water is a body of portraiture work portraying a contemporary connection to the artist herself and her subject’s relationship to their culture.
Noni is exploring blood, heritage and family; what it means to be indigenous.
Noni is exploring what it is to have a dual heritage/identity within today’s society and all the little things in between. Celebrating difference and a crossing over of cultures, expressing Aboriginality being defined by a Culture not a colour.
These subjects are her family, her brothers, her partner and close dear friends – all actively creative, in touch and proud of who they are – they have each played significant roles in shaping Noni into the artist and person she is, a small but profound collective of young Indigenous Australians with a vision to inspire the following Generation of First Nations People.
Noni’s subjects are form Bundjalung, Gambayniggirr, Darug, Kamilaroi, Gamilaraay and Manjilang.
